"The sweet, sharp edge of obsession."
Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction .. my every desire ... mine. My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We'd never work. It was too hard, too painful .. except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.

Bared To You was awesome, I can tell. I was waiting like crazy for Reflected In You to be released as I'm eager to know how Gideon and Eva journey will continue; will it be still about the sex or even more? What I can say first is that the first half doesn't have a plot; it's just random fucking and throwing arguments between Gideon and Eva. Holes certainly are everywhere, and still can't close the gap Bared To You left with, but the end certainly pays it well, with a HUUUGEEE surprise at the end (it was unbelievable, unpredictable and quite insane). Reading Reflected In You is like being in a new neighborhood; you get angry, you get sad, you get confused, you get uncomfortable. It's like Sylvia Day is trying to play with your mind but sadly, it doesn't do the trick. Why? Read these followings :

1. What's with Gideon and Eva? I know they have their own fucked up past, I know that they are meant for each other, that their only goal is to be together, proving everyone and certainly themselves wrong. Their romance grows slowly (way too slow perhaps) and they do more screw up than their fucks! (unbelievable, I know) It's crazy how they tear each other apart to the point of exhaustion, in order to only be together. I don't know how they relationship seem to be tempting or even more, worked. I mean, what kind of couple goes to a therapist every once (or twice?) in a week? Their relationship is exhausting and undoubtly confusing. What's gonna happen next? What'll they overcome? How? The questions will remain there, lie in both of their will. And I don't know how Gideon's fuck pad and ex-fiancée richen the story; it simply lack of purposes. Their troubled past is enough to create drama already.

2. Eva, oh Eva. What's wrong with you and the highly annoying jealousy and the drama you cause by your own fucking mind? God, you're such a drama queen! A highly maintenance one. Though I love getting inside your narrative, feeling your insecurities, emotional scars and confusion regarding Gideon reasonless day and storm mood, but chillax girl! I love you being bitchy and strong (always will), determined and certainly not afraid to speak up, but sometimes you gotta think before snapping, you get me?

3. I don't know what's inside Gideon's mind. He certainly isn't as charming and inevitable as Christian Grey (and certainly not as flirty and possessively sweet and annoying as he is) and he is certainly not the star of the book, I get it. I also know how dark and dangerous he is (as Eva has said about that like gazillion times), but he is lack of purposes. His fucked up past doesn't do any thunderdog. And his confusing behavior, sometimes up, sometimes down, really annoying. It hurts that I don't lust after him.

4. Surprisingly, I love Cary. He's the light of Eva and Gideon's dark and sensual fucked up relationship. I love how he connects with Eva through flirty and sensual conversation. His concerns towards Eva is one to die for.

5. I love seeing newcomers. Thank you Mrs. Day for getting us an inside scoop of Mr. Victor Reyes and more growing persona of Eva's mother. Thank you too for letting Brett, the sexiest past of Eva, comes into her life again, creating such catastrophy but still is sexy. And thank you also for the additionals like Megumi and Shawna. You rock!

Finally, I can say that Reflected In You is satisfying enough with its fast-paced moment of truth at the quarter end, but it still can't steal my heart. Reflected In You somehow feels like a beautiful wreckage of a jewel; sexy but messed up. I seriously can't tolerate the just-a-moment 'decoration' (like the fuck pad, and Corinne, and Magdalene, they can seriously spice things up!). Bottom line, I still recommend you to read this, but subjectively saying, it won't satisfy your fantasy enough.
